Discontinuation of Canada Post PO Box Shipping (UPDATE)
Share
Effective December 2025, we have made the decision to discontinue shipping to PO boxes within Canada by Canada Post and it's for several reasons.
The main reason is inconsistency and reliability. Canada Post has become one of the most unreliable shipping companies we've worked with within Canada. They are constantly going on strike and making services inaccessible. We can't have that.
The second reason is rising costs. Canada Post is one of the most expensive shipping companies we use. Compared to other companies or even the primary shipping company we use: Intelcom (now known as Dragonfly) - which is the carrier that Amazon uses to deliver all parcels within Canada, Canada Post can be 2x - 3x times the amount if you compare directly for each address.
The third reason is speed. Canada Post is very slow compared to other couriers. So it's not only 2x - 3x the price, but it can be almost double the wait times on shipping. Why pay more to get something in 10 days when you can pay half the price and get it in 5 days? This just goes to show how inefficient Canada Post has become compared to newer competitors like Amazon's delivery network.
For us to continue to keep a $12 flat rate shipping (and even lower this in the future) - this can only apply to non-PO box addresses. Currently Canada Post serves 2% of our shipments (down from 85% in 2023), and we want to keep that under 0.5% if possible to provide the best shipping services to Canadian customers.
If we are shipping to Alberta for example: Shipping costs to a PO Box may be around $22-38 by Canada Post (8-11 days time), but shipping to an address across the street by Intelcom (Dragonfly) would be between $12-14 on average for the same area (and only 4-5 days time). Often times shipping to a PO Box is more money then the entire order which results in huge losses on our end. This isn't financially stable for to keep doing it.
By default, we have now turned off PO Box addresses at checkout and customers will now need a regular street address. If you would like your order shipped to a PO Box anyways, then you will need to place the order first then contact us after to change the address manually. This will count as a shipping upgrade and additional shipping charges may be applicable to be invoiced if there are other shipping services to the same city available.
Rural area customers: In the event that you live in a area so far from a city where there isn't any courier services to you (northern Quebec, Yukon, remote islands, etc), and you can only use a PO Box, please checkout with a non-PO Box address first and contact us and we will manually change it. If there are no other services that we use that can deliver to you, then we will ship Canada Post and you won't be charged any additional costs outside of our flat rate or free shipping offers.
Thank you for the understanding!

Ordered from you 14 days ago. Dragonfly has not updated their tracking since Dec 12th. Not sure where my package is. Been trying to contact them but they are hard to get ahold of.
I have two outstanding orders and can provide an address that is not the po box on my account.
